Madeline Rae Atwell
Foundation, mindset & well-rounded horsemanship
Madeline “Maddie” Rae Atwell brings a broad background in horsemanship, young-horse development, equine management, and ranch management to Rae Livestock. Her foundation began in Western pleasure, showmanship, and horsemanship before expanding into the rodeo and working-horse worlds.
Maddie has extensive experience with young horses and Mustangs, including work directly with the Bureau of Land Management. She spent five years as foreman at Paradise Ranch Company in Buffalo, Wyoming, where she helped manage a herd of just under 200 horses and gained hands-on experience across the many demands of a large equine operation.
Her approach values the balance between foundation and mindset. Whether a horse is destined to be a working horse, family horse, or performance horse, Maddie believes good training should create confidence, usefulness, and a healthy relationship with the job being asked of the horse.
Her undergraduate education in Biochemistry, combined with experience in veterinary science, equine management, and ranch management, informs a whole-horse approach to care and training.
